Milk and Honey

It’s been way too long since I have posted here. I don’t really have an excuse. I just didn’t feel like writing. Nothing came to me. I suppose.

Then I read Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur.

I want – no I need to write how I feel about this book. My soul is itching at me to shout out to everyone how perfect her book is.

I had high expectations from it and the book surpassed it. That never happens.

Every word set me on fire.

The thing about good poetry is literal understanding comes after the shivers, the goosebumps of giant feelings. I felt the pain, the hurt, the love, the breaking and of course the healing.

It was a roller coaster of feelings and I rode it again and again but the thrill, the anticipation, the emotions never left.

So, it’s amazing. Read it. GO!

    1. I am the teenage girl you’re describing. I liked it because I connected with her writing. Rationally, I can see where you are coming from. The book looks like it came out of tumblr-wonderland. It’s like poetry for dummies or more aptly pop-poetry. It’s really good at being a pop poetry. Other than that, take my review for what it is. A personal statement.
